Yoobi – Temakeria, London

A quick Google tells me there are approximately 1200 branches of McDonald’s in the UK, 700 KFCs, 500 Burger Kings and 1500 Subways but only one Yoobi!

According to their literature, Yoobi is London’s first (and so far, only) temakeria.

With a simple menu, selling little more than a small selection of freshly made temaki (hand rolled sushi), miso soups, sashimi and few sides, if I had anything to do with it, every town would soon be getting their first temakeria!

They may not be the best temaki that I’ve eaten but for a quick easy, healthy snack, for my money, they beat any of the offerings from the above fat fast food restaurants, hands down!

I had:

Cucumber – cucumber, wasabi ‘crema’, sesame seeds & rice.

Citrus Salmon – salmon, orange tobiko, avocado, chives, croutons, yuzu mayo & rice.

Tuna Tartare - tuna, guacamole, chives, capers, jalapeño, lime, sea salt, rice.

Spicy Tuna - tuna, romaine lettuce, croutons, yoobi spicy sauce, rice.

A clean, funky space; swift, friendly service and decent, freshly made temaki! What’s not to love? I’m not going to say which was my favourite; go and taste for yourself!
