Yauatcha - Michelin starred Chinese, London, Soho

The Michelin starred Yauatcha in London’s Soho is not only one of my favourite Chinese restaurants… it’s amongst my favourites for any type of cuisine. I love the décor; the staff are friendly and being able to visit the macaroon and teashop on the way out is the icing on the cake!

On our most recent trip for my birthday on the 5th July, we ate:

Seafood dumpling in supreme stock

Har Gau

Szechuan peppered capelin

Sticky rice in lotus leaf with chicken and dried shrimp

Pan fried turnip cake

Pipa tofu with shrimp and baby asparagus

Stir-fry double cooked pork belly in chilli sauce

Drinks: Masumi ‘Nanago’ Yamahai Junmai Daiginjo Sake; Nara Iced Tea with vanilla, chilli sugar, cinnamon, passion fruit juice & jasmine tea and a Hakka Cocktail of Belvedere vodka, Akashi-Tai sake, lychee, lime, coconut and passion fruit.
