A few days
ago, I posted that I’m giving up writing “detailed” blog posts so I can focus
on my new hobby of learning to play the drums.
So here’s my
first short and sweet post, showing some pics of another excellent, great value
lunch at one of my faves… Burnt Truffle.
This new no nonsense
type of post works well for a place like “Burnt” – there, Chef Gary Usher and
his team cook simple bistro food without bullshit or frippery. We all like to bang
on about Gary’s @stickywalnut
twitter persona but every now and then I like to remind myself that twitter
aside, he’s a fucking shit hot chef! (Soz for the swears!)
Chicken & pig’s head terrine, apple puree & deep fried pickles
Cured salmon ballotine, miso, samphire & hazelnuts
Roast pork belly, red wine salsify, Berkswell polenta, pine nut &
golden raisin dressing
Parmesan & Truffle Chips |
Prune & Armagnac frangipane tart, anglaise and crème fraiche sorbet
