In fairness they gave us some free garlic bread when seated

Two waiters collided and covered two of our party in garlic butter - at this point they apologised and gave us a free bottle of wine; I think they offered to pay for dry cleaning if one jacket needed it. But really - at that point they probably should have just offered a big discount (I know that it was really an accident, but you reach the point of just getting a negative picture in your head).

Then they made an error on the order - we ordered two seafood risotto. They brought one mushroom and so one guy had to wait 30 mins for us. He had to suggest that he wouldn't have to pay for it rather than they offer. One negative note was when they guy came back he looked at me rather aggressively and said over the rest of the table "You said mushroom risotto." Well - I wasn't about to get into an argument with him; but I know I specifically said Seafood Risotto, pointed to the menu, and he repeated it back to me.

They did offer as all a £10 voucher each, most of the party left there's on the table however and won't be going back.

Even if the service is good - I've never had a good meal there. I think a lot of people consider it their favourite restaurant on the basis of the decor and the pricing premium. In Didsbury it's a tragedy that the Lime Tree and Rhubarb - and the Rose Garden are all in walking distance and so much better.Andrew Bnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8413854587296254847.post-77698850507317411202012-10-23T16:36:27.552+01:002012-10-23T16:36:27.552+01:00Well done ! The Albert Square branch has a buzz, a welcoming maitre D and better food but prices and quality seem to have been diverging for years.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
